At the invitation of the German-Singapore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the consultancy Santiago Asia - represented by Dr Lizana-Allende and Dr Wolters - presented the results and key findings of the VCI innovation study at the June meeting of the Chemical Committee in Singapore. The main focus was on the internal barriers to innovation and the transferability of the findings gained in Germany to the Singapore location.
The chemical industry is an important economic factor in Singapore and represents up to 40% of the gross domestic product. Ensuring long-term competitiveness as a chemical company is directly linked to the issue of innovation capability. The importance of this factor for companies in this sector and for Singapore itself as a location is obvious.
