Helping to shape the future
We live responsibility
We see the same commitment we make to our projects as our responsibility to society. We therefore support initiatives for the common good through the personal commitment of our employees, through donations and through "pro bono" projects. We make our contribution to the further development of society and in return receive impetus for ourselves and for our work. Two things that are particularly close to our hearts are the promotion of entrepreneurship and art.
We are entrepreneurs and have large networks in our focus industries. We make these networks available to young companies in the context of start-up coaching programs, among others at the TU Munich as well as the EBS, Oestrich-Winkel, and coach them in building up their companies. We support them as mentors and enable students/docs to follow their entrepreneurial impulses, e.g., with regard to agility or new business models, in order to promote joint growth.
In our eyes, art makes an important contribution to the further development of our society. This is why Santiago supports artists through initiatives such as the "new talents" exhibitions. We have a special connection with the Kunstraum Fuhrwerkswaage in Cologne, which, with its support association, is committed to anchoring art in society and promoting talent. In addition, once a year we commission a special Santiago edition of works by emerging art talents.
We go ahead
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. As a consulting company, we are regularly on site at changing locations of our customers and cause CO2 emissions through our travel activities. We aim to achieve CO2 neutrality for Santiago by 2028.
We want our projects to succeed and also want to look each other in the eye regularly as a team. Although we work a lot from the home office, we cannot completely avoid travel. Whenever possible, we accordingly choose the mobility alternative for our travels that makes the highest contribution to preserving the climate. This means, for example, that we intensify rail travel, avoid flying, create incentives for using public transport, and increase the proportion of CO2-friendly technologies in our company vehicles. We summarize all our commitments as "Project Zero".
In purely arithmetical terms, we have already achieved CO2 neutrality. Since 2019, we not only calculate our carbon footprint, but also offset it 100% by investing in appropriate projects (solar, wind, forest, biomass). In addition, we use the location of our headquarters in a landscape conservation area to make our contribution very directly. From planting trees together to establishing bee colonies, we specifically look for ways to benefit the preservation of our earth.
